Ameristar Fence Installation: The Fresno Owner’s Guide
Ameristar fence installation in Fresno typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a complete residential project, with most jobs finished in two to four days depending on fence length and gate configuration. If you already own Ameristar panels and are dealing with a failed section, post, or gate hardware, we can source the matching components and handle the repair without replacing the whole run.
The way most Fresno owners discover they need us is simple: a strong wind storm comes through the San Joaquin Valley, or a sprinkler has been soaking a post base for three years, and one morning the gate drags or a panel leans. Often the damage looks worse than it is. The panel is fine. The post footing or the gate hinge is not.
Which Ameristar Models This Applies To

Ameristar fence lines fall into three families: Montage (industrial and commercial, heavier gauge), Echelon (residential ornamental), and the Classic line. Most Fresno backyards have Echelon or Classic installed, but we work on all three. The quickest way to identify what you have is to look at the post caps and the picket punch pattern. Echelon uses a smooth, rounded cap and a consistent pressed-picket design. Classic has a welded saddle-top rail detail. Montage posts are noticeably thicker, usually 2.5 inches square or larger.
One compatibility gotcha worth knowing before you buy anything: Ameristar changed their rail bracket design around 2018 on the Echelon line. If your fence was installed before that, the newer brackets will not seat correctly without drilling the post. We keep both bracket generations in the truck so we don’t leave you with a half-finished repair. For OEM vs aftermarket, Ameristar’s factory parts are still our default for anything structural, especially gates. Aftermarket picket caps and small trim pieces work fine and cost less, but we will always tell you which is going on your fence and why before we quote it.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your Ameristar Fence Installation Is Failing
- A post leaning more than a few degrees at the base. This means the concrete footing has cracked or the post has rusted through below the soil line where moisture sits longest. In Fresno’s hardpan clay, water will pool around the post base after heavy irrigation and accelerate that rust.
- A gate that scrapes the ground or won’t latch without lifting. Gate sag usually means the hinge side post has moved, or the hinge hardware itself has ovaled out from ten years of wind loading and kids hanging on it.
- Rust bleeding from panel seams or bracket connections. Ameristar’s powder coat is good, but once the coating gets scratched and our summer heat keeps the metal hot through October, oxidation spreads fast. It starts cosmetic and becomes structural if ignored.
- Loose pickets that rattle or spin. On Echelon panels, each picket is pressed into the rails. Once a rail gets dented or the press-fit weakens, pickets work free. One loose picket is a repair. Twenty means the panel has flexed too many times and should be replaced.
- Cracks in the concrete around the post base. The crack itself is not the problem. The problem is that water now has a direct path to the steel. We cut out and re-pour that footing rather than patch the crack and wait.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a full Ameristar fence installation in Fresno, the $3,500 to $9,000 range covers about 100 to 250 linear feet with two gates, post setting in concrete, and removal of the old fence if there is one. At the lower end you are looking at a smaller yard with one gate and clean access. The higher end reflects longer runs, more gates, or demo work where an old chain-link or wood fence has to come out first and be hauled away.
Every price we give is written down before any work starts. That number includes the Ameristar-compatible or OEM parts, concrete, labor, and haul-away. It does not change unless you change the scope. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the installation: if something is not right within a year, we come back and make it right. No invoice for the return trip.

AfterDIY or Call Us?
Replacing a picket cap or tightening a gate hinge bolt is reasonable to do yourself. Re-setting a post, replacing a panel, or squaring a gate is where DIY goes wrong in ways that cost more than the original repair. Fence work looks forgiving because it is outdoors. Post footings need to be deep enough to get below Fresno’s clay to stable ground, and a panel that is half an inch out of level at one end becomes nearly two inches out by the time it reaches the other post.
If you are not sure which category your repair falls into, send us a photo or describe what you are seeing. We’ll tell you straight whether you can handle it or whether it is worth having us out. The call costs nothing. Reach us at (559) 540-8453.
FAQs

Ameristar fencing typically lasts 25 to 35 years in Fresno, with the powder coat holding up through our summers when the fence is not hit repeatedly with sprinkler overspray or pool water. The weak point in almost every install we see more than ten years old is the post base, not the panels.
A post that is intact above the soil line can sometimes be straightened and re-set in a new concrete footing without replacing the post itself. If the steel is rusted through below grade, the post is done, and we replace it. We will show you what we found before we do anything.
Replacing a section, including a post or two, usually takes one day for the demo and new footing, then a second short visit after the concrete cures to hang the panel and gate. Curing is the only thing that stretches the timeline, and concrete does not care about the calendar.
We stock Echelon and Classic bracket hardware, picket caps, gate hinges, and post caps. Full panels and posts are ordered per job to get the exact height and color match, which keeps your new section from looking like an obvious patch.
