Blanco Driveway & Pavers: The Fresno Owner’s Guide

If your Blanco paver driveway has shifted, cracked, or settled, the fix usually runs $700 – $6,000 in Fresno depending on whether we’re re-setting a small section or replacing the whole run. We keep Blanco-compatible pavers and base materials on hand for most Fresno neighborhoods, and we can usually have a crew out within a few days to look at the damage. The way most homeowners find us is the same: a paver sinks after rain, a border row pulls loose along the edge, or a section of the driveway starts to wave in the Fresno heat and a few pavers crack under the weight of the car.

We’re an independent Fresno remodeling and paving contractor, not affiliated with Blanco, but we work with their driveway and paver products regularly. What that means for you: we know which Blanco pavers are still in production, which have been discontinued, and how to match a patch to an existing driveway without it looking like a patch.

Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco’s paver and driveway system breaks down into three main lines we see across Fresno: the interlocking concrete paver series (commonly sold in 60mm and 80mm thicknesses), the large-format slab pavers (often 24″ x 24″ or 24″ x 36″), and the permeable paver line that some Fresno homeowners chose for drainage compliance. Each line uses a different base specification, and the 60mm pavers are almost never rated for vehicle traffic, which is a detail that gets missed on a lot of Fresno installs we’re called to fix.

The easiest way to identify your paver is the underside. Blanco stamps a production code and the paver dimensions near one corner, and that code tells us the plant run and the color batch. If that stamp is worn off, we measure the paver thickness with a caliper and match the top face dimensions against Blanco’s current catalog. Older Blanco colors get discontinued, which matters: a 2018 “Sierra Blend” and today’s “Sierra Blend” are not always the same mix, and we’ll tell you that before we order anything.

On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: for Blanco pavers, quality aftermarket matches exist for the standard gray and brown families, but the color blends are the risk. We typically recommend OEM or a batch-matched equivalent for visible driveway areas, and aftermarket only for under-fence runs or behind a gate where sunlight and foot traffic are minimal.

Signs Your Blanco Driveway & Pavers Is Failing

  • Pavers sinking in a low spot after rain. This is almost always base failure, not paver failure. In Fresno’s clay-heavy soil, water pools under the driveway and washes out the sand bedding. The pavers settle, then crack under vehicle weight. The fix is lifting the section, re-compacting the base, and re-setting the pavers.
  • Edge rows pulling apart from the border. The edge restraint has failed, either because it was never installed or because Fresno’s summer heat softened a plastic edge restraint. Pavers on a driveway expand slightly in 100-degree heat, and without a rigid edge, the outside rows spread. We see this most often on Fresno driveways with a curved apron.
  • White haze or a chalky film on the surface. That’s efflorescence, and it’s common with concrete pavers in areas with hard water. It’s not structural, but it signals salt deposits rising through the paver. Blanco pavers handle this better than some, but left alone the haze can stain permanently. We have a low-odour cleaning process that removes it without etching the surface.
  • Cracks in a straight line across multiple pavers. A straight-line crack means the pavers are sitting over a joint in a concrete sub-slab or over a utility line that was not properly backfilled. Replacing the cracked pavers without addressing what’s underneath will give you the same crack again within a year or two in Fresno’s soil.
  • Pavers rocking underfoot. A rocking paver means the sand bedding is uneven underneath it. Left alone, the rocking paver cracks, then the neighbours on each side start taking the load and crack too. This is an afternoon fix if we catch it early and a bigger re-bedding job if we don’t.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

In Fresno, here is what we quote for Blanco paver driveway work:

Work Scope Typical Installed Price
Paver driveway installation (full new build) $7,000 – $18,000
Driveway replacement (remove and re-lay existing area) $5,000 – $14,000
Concrete driveway installation $4,500 – $12,000
Driveway sealing (asphalt or paver sealant) $250 – $700
Paver patio installation (for reference) $3,500 – $11,000

What drives the range: the size of the area, whether the base underneath can be re-used, whether we’re matching an existing Blanco color, and how much of the old material has to be hauled off. Every quote is a written, itemised price before any work starts. That price includes the pavers, the sand and base material, lifting and removal of the old section, installation, and the clean-up. The 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to every paver driveway job we do: if the pavers shift, sink, or crack within a year of the work being completed, we come back and make it right at no charge. That promise is written on every proposal, not just said over the phone.

DIY or Call Us?

Paver work is not dangerous the way a garage-door spring or a gas line is, but it is heavy work, and the mistakes are expensive in a specific Fresno way. You can safely check whether your edge restraints are still in place, whether water is pooling against the driveway after rain, and whether any pavers are rocking. What you cannot safely do without a plate compactor and a proper base material is re-set a sunken section. A homeowner repair that looks fine for six months and then settles again costs more to fix the second time, because now we’re removing someone else’s hand-tamped sand as well as the original problem. If you have one or two rocking pavers, we can usually fix that in an afternoon for a couple hundred dollars. If the edge is spreading in the Fresno heat, call us at (559) 540-8453 before the damage walks into the lawn.
